A BIG thank you to Liz Shea Designs for giving Mission 34 the opportunity to share what M34 is and what we do. Some special friends came out to support our cause and spread the word to end the stigma around mental illness.

Charlotte Football Teams
November 21, 2021

Mission 34 hosted a presentation to a few Charlotte, NC football teams. Fonda Bryant discussed the importance of recognizing the signs of mental distress and what to do to help someone who is struggling. David Hagan of Life Brothers spoke with the young men about brotherhood and how important it is to take care of themselves and support one another.

On November 7, 2021 over 500 people from across the country joined virtually to walk in memory of Sean P. Bonner, Jr for the Angelversary Walk.  Thanks to everyone who joined in.

Mission 34 enjoyed speaking with Massapequa High School’s 9th grade classes about the importance of taking care of their mental health during the Wellness section of their health class.

Over 200 attended the annual kickball tournament in Charlotte, NC to raise awareness of mental illness and to end the stigma surrounding it.

Denison M34 Volleyball Tournament
April 19, 2021

M34’s Denison University Chapter held a Volleyball Tournament during their Wellness Day on campus.  The M34 Ambassadors did a great job of spreading awareness of mental illness and the importance of taking care of yourself while having lots of fun.

Charlotte Latin School SALT Meeting with Mission 34 & Blue Marble Day

Mission 34 sponsored a SALT (Student Athlete Leadership Team) Meeting with speakers Henry Davis and Fletcher Barnes of Blue Marble Day about the importance of finding one’s own path toward mental wellness. They spoke of their own journey and vulnerabilities.  We applaud the students for engaging in a open and honest discussion.  Thank you Charlotte Latin School for giving us a platform on which to discuss mental health.

“Out of the Darkness Walk”
November 7, 2020

Team Mission 34 participated in the virtual “Out of the Darkness Walk” in Charlotte, NC, Shrewsbury, NJ, Winchester, MA, Granville, OH,  Austin, TX, and Los Angeles, CA, raising almost $20,000 for AFSP (American Foundation for Suicide Prevention).

Massapequa High School
November 3, 2020

M34 held a virtual training via Zoom with Mental Health Counselor Jennifer Fights and a class of health teachers.  These teachers then used the M34 website as a backdrop to teach their classes the importance of mental health.  Thank you to lead teacher, Denise Baldinger, and SADD Club Leader, Angela Gallucci,  for making a presentation to the Massapequa County School Board and their contribution to M34.
