MISSION 34

A NEW TYPE OF TOUGH

Where mental health is strength and everyone has someone in their corner.

Who We Are

We’re Here To Raise Each Other Up.

Mission 34 exists to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness through awareness, education, and ambassadors. Founded in 2018 in honor of Sean Bonner Jr., M34 started on a single college campus with one belief: that the people closest to the problem are the ones best positioned to solve it.

Today, M34 is a growing community of chapters, ambassadors, and supporters across the country — all united by the idea that strength comes from vulnerability, and that real change happens when people show up for each other.

We are a movement defining A New Type of Tough — instilling that speaking up is strength one campus, one community, one real conversation at a time.

Why We Started

Sean P. Bonner Jr.’s Story Didn’t End.It Became Ours.

Sean P. Bonner, Jr. was a son, a brother, a teammate, and a friend. He was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel like they belonged. In 2018, Sean P. Bonner Jr.’s family lost him—and with that loss came a question that would change everything:

What if everyone had someone standing with them through their hardest battle?

That question became Mission 34. Named for Sean P. Bonner Jr.’s college baseball jersey number, Mission 34 was born from a family’s decision to turn pain into purpose, keeping others alive, connected, and seen.

Sean P. Bonner Jr.’s story is our origin—and it keeps growing. Today, Mission 34 lives through every chapter meeting where a student says “this week was hard” and every event where someone realizes they are not alone. His legacy is alive in every open conversation. It’s a movement.

How We Do It
